Sands of Morar - Dog Friendly Beach in Mallaig, Highland.
The Silver Sands of Morar make up the most northerly of a string of beautiful beaches that stretch south from below Mallaig to Arisaig, the other two being Camusdarach and Arisaig itself.
Testimony to the wild, natural beauty here is the fact that Morar beach was used in the films "Local Hero" and "Breaking the Waves".
Morar is a station stop on the magnificent train line between Fort William and Mallaig, featuring the steam train called "The Jacobite" and crossing the spectacular Glenfinnan viaduct, further to the east, This is a spectacular part of the Highlands, highly recommended.
