Cornwall At War Museum

Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome at the Museum in both the grounds and the buildings.

The museum is dedicated to the Royal Navy, Army and RAF with 19 display buildings including our new aircraft and military vehicle hangar.

This is not your usual stuffy museum with regimented rows of display cases. Look out for the Animals at War display – from pigeons to elephants and lots more in between.

Literally thousands of artefacts are thoughtfully displayed, supported by film, voice and the written word.

There is a picnic area with tables and a children’s play area.  We sell hot & cold drinks, crisps and biscuits.

Open Easter to November.

“FANTASTIC. AWESOME. DOG AND DISABLED FRIENDLY. ALLOW 3 HOURS...ENJOY!”

- Robert Smith

“Today was in the 30s temperature wise so I was looking for somewhere to go that was mostly inside, out of the sun where we could take our greyhound. This proved to be a great idea as our greyhound was allowed everywhere with us, and it was a fascinating afternoon. There is so much to see and lots of films running telling you about all the restoration as well as the artefacts. There are around 14 buildings, filled with everything from aeroplanes and scout cars to uniforms, medals, military set up radio rooms, not to mention air raid shelters. I don't believe anyone could fail to find it interesting whether you are interested in the military services or not. Although there was no cafe, the owner and staff assured us they welcome picnicking inside or out, and provide a room where you can make yourself drinks for a donation of 50p each. I cannot recommend this enough. A wonderful place to visit. ”
